Lucena is located in the Andalusia region on the southern coast of Spain, on a river bearing the same name as the town. From the city is nearly 100 km to Malaga, located on the Mediterranean Sea on the Costa del Sol. With a population of over 40 000 (2010) Lucena is the second largest city in the province of Córdoba.
