Torremolinos is a seaside town belonging to the Andalusia region and located far south of Spain. The city is located on the coastal strip known as Costa del Sol and is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea. It is only approx. 15 km to the city of Malaga in the northeast, and in 2010, there were about 65 000 inhabitants in Torremolinos.
Torremolinos has been a very popular tourist destination since the 1950s and was one of the first seaside resorts that were developed in this coastal strip. Today there are many visitors who come here to lie on the beach, visiting amusement parks Aqualand, Tivoli World or watching crocodiles at the Crocodile Park.
Pablo Ruiz Picasso Airport belongs to Malaga and is situated approx. 5 km north of Torremolinos. This is the fourth largest airport in the country.
