Castellón de la Plana is the capital of Castellon province that belongs to the region of Valencia. The city is situated east of Spain bordering the Mediterranean Sea. The city Valencia is located about 80 km south of Castellón de la Plana, and today the town has about 180 000 inhabitants (2009).
