Guadalajara is the capital of the province of the same name, and the city belongs to the region of Castilla la Mancha. Guadalajara is located in the middle of Spain, and it takes approx. 50 minutes to drive to the capital Madrid. The population measures currently almost 85 000 (2010).
The Romans controlled Guadalajara in their time, and between 700 – and 1000’s was under Moorish rule. Owing to its long history, there are many churches and buildings that are worth seeing. Palacio del Infantado is a palace which was built in the 1400s and is one of the city’s most famous sights.
