El Hierro Airport (VDE) is located on the island of El Hierro belonging to the Canary Islands off the African continent.The airport is located approx. 2 km in linear distance from the town of Valverde in the northeastern part of the island. A bus runs every hour between Valverde and the airport, and it is also possible to take a taxi.
El Hierro Airport is the only one on the island, and in 2008 it was registered almost 200 000 passengers.The companies Binter Canarias and TopFly.com are the only ones associated with the airport, which offers flights to, among other things, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Tenerife North Airport and Tenerife South Airport.
